March has been wonderful for us weather wise with bright sunshine and warmish temperatures and more importantly very little rain, only 60mm in fact. This has allowed us to complete our spring greens maintenance without to much fuss and they will be fully recovered in time for the coming season. All tees and aprons have been verti-drained as well.
The final phase of the irrigation system has been started and with ground conditions reasonable firm they will be able to continue with their work without too much disruption. The contractors will be on site until around June time and some hole closures will be necessary for health and safety reasons but we will try and keep these to a minimum and limit the amount of disruption. Please check in the clubhouse before teeing off and they will inform you of any temporary closures.
As we move into April our main focus will obviously be cutting and getting the presentation back up to scratch, we do have some other work to continue with such as path work to finish topping up bunkers with sand and etc and these will be completed over the next few weeks.
All we can hope for now is some more sunshine and a reasonably normal summer, but that maybe asking too much
